MPNP Skilled Worker in Manitoba Stream (SWM)
The Skilled Worker in Manitoba Stream (SWM) is for qualified temporary foreign workers and international student graduates who are currently working in Manitoba and have been offered a permanent, full-time job by their Manitoba employer.
Who Qualifies
Temporary Foreign Workers
- Working for a Manitoba employer for at least 6 months continuously
- Hold a valid work permit
- Have a permanent, full-time job offer from current employer
International Student Graduates
- Graduated from a designated learning institution in Manitoba
- Working for a Manitoba employer for at least 6 months
- Hold a valid post-graduation work permit
- Have a permanent, full-time job offer
Eligibility Requirements
Job Offer Requirements
- Permanent position with no end date
- Full-time (minimum 30 hours per week)
- From same employer you worked for during qualifying period
- Meets Manitoba wage standards
Work Experience Requirements
- Minimum 6 months continuous full-time work with Manitoba employer
- Valid work status throughout employment period
Language Requirements

The Application Process
Step 1: Expression of Interest (EOI)
- Create online profile in MPNP EOI system
- Receive score based on assessment factors
Step 2: Receive Letter of Advice to Apply (LAA)
- If selected, receive LAA
- Have 60 days to submit complete application
Step 3: Submit Application
- Complete online application
- Upload required documents
- Pay $500 CAD application fee
Step 4: Nomination
- If approved, receive provincial nomination
- Apply for permanent residence to IRCC
Step 5: Permanent Residence
- Submit PR application to federal government
- Processing time: 12-18 months
